Mohit Suri is an Indian director. He made his directorial debut with the film Zeher (2005). He then made a couple of films, including the blockbusters Kalyug (2007), Murder 2 (2011), Aashiqui 2 (2013) and Ek Villain (2014). His last film was Hamari Adhuri Kahaani (2015). His next venture is the highly anticipated movie Half Girlfriend, which is based on Chetan Bhagat`s book. The film will be out in cinemas in April, 2017.
Mohit Suri was born into a family having it’s roots deep into Bollywood. His mother is Mahesh and Mukesh Bhatt’s youngest sister late Heena Suri, who was an air-hostess. She died off cardiac arrest when Mohit was 8 years. His father doesn’t belong to the film fraternity. He has one sister Smilie Suri, who is also an actress and a dancer. Mohit is the nephew of director Mahesh Bhatt who is like a father figure to him. Emraan Hashmi is his cousin brother and has helped him a lot during his struggling days.
Director Mohit Suri got married to actress Udita Goswami on 29 january 2013. In 2005, the duo fell in love at the launch party of “Zeher” in Goa. They got married at Hare Rama Hare Krishna temple in a traditional Punjabi wedding style. The couple is blessed with a beautiful daughter named Devi Suri on 1 January 2015.
Mohit Suri started his career as an office boy at the age of 16 who used to deliver cassettes to T-Series office. Later in films as an assistant director. He made his directorial debut with film Zeher in 2005, which was an average on charts. Kalyug was his next in the same year. Subsequently in 2006 he took up his third film “Woh Lamhe”, then in 2007 ‘Awarapan’ both proved to be a critical and commercial success. Later, he has given some smashing hits to the industry like Murder 2, Aashiqui 2 and Ek Villain. His latest released flick Hamari Adhuri Kahaani was not a blockbuster hit but he was praised for his work.
As per the latest reports, Mohit Suri has been approached to judge the upcoming season of Star Plus’ dance reality show Nach Baliye. He wil be seen alongwith Soankshi Sinha and Terence Lewis.
